Feng Chia University ranks first in the number of students admitted by application

The results of the university admission by application for the academic year 113 were announced today (13th). Feng Chia University had the highest number of students admitted by application among public and private universities in the country, with 2,295 people. The enrollment rate reached 91.6%, ranking first among all universities with an enrollment scale of more than 2,000 people.

Feng Chia University Once Again Honored as an “Outstanding Industry-Academia Collaboration Institution” by the Chinese Institute of Engineers

Feng Chia University has been awarded the honor of “Outstanding Industry-Academia Collaboration Institution” at the 113th Annual Joint Conference of the Chinese Institute of Engineers and its affiliated engineering societies. This marks the fifth time the University has received this prestigious recognition, following awards in the 90th, 93rd, 97th, and 110th years. President Wang, Wei personally traveled to Taipei to attend the award ceremony held on June 6 at the Ruei Si Hotel, where he received the commendation from Yang Cheng-Hung, Chairperson of the Chinese Institute of Engineers.

Feng Chia University Ranked First Nationwide Again

Feng Chia University has once again secured the highest level of funding in the Ministry of Education’s 2024 Institutional Development Program for Private Universities, receiving more than NT$179 million and ranking first nationwide for the second consecutive year. The allocation reflects the overall performance of private universities, with 30 percent determined by institutional scale and the remaining 70 percent based on institutional distinctiveness, administrative effectiveness, and educational outcomes. This achievement demonstrates strong recognition from both the Ministry and the public for Feng Chia University’s advancements in internationalization, AI and 5G development, educational innovation, and sustainable industry engagement.

Feng Chia University Commencement Ceremony

To celebrate more than 5,000 graduating students, Feng Chia University held a total of 56 commencement ceremonies, each filled with joy and heartfelt blessings. The 2024 Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 113 took place on the evening of June 1 in the Chi‑Yuan Hall. Despite heavy afternoon rain, the enthusiasm of the graduates and their families remained undiminished. Both Chi‑Yuan Hall and the Sixth International Conference Hall, where the ceremony was simultaneously livestreamed, were fully packed.

Feng Chia University Passes ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certification for the Fourth Consecutive Year

Feng Chia University has successfully passed the third‑party certification of the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System for the fourth consecutive year in 2024. During the University Affairs Meeting, President Wang, Wei signed the Environmental, Safety, Health, and Energy Management Policy, witnessed by all University administrators. President Wang, Wei reaffirmed the University’s commitment to achieving the guiding principles of “regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, implementation of environmental safety and health measures, and building a sustainable and resilient smart campus.”

“Spring rain nourishes all things, year after year.” On May 15, Feng Chia University held a reopening ceremony for Chun‑Yu Pond, located beside Virtuosi Hall. More than 200 faculty members and students attended the event, during which President Wang, Wei and Chairperson Gao, Cheng‑Shu released koi carp into the pond—symbolizing blessings upon blessings as lotus flowers meet vibrant koi.

During the trip, the delegation also met alumni in Melbourne as well as Feng Chia students currently studying at RMIT University and Monash University.

Feng Chia University Students from the Department of Environmental Engineering and Science and the Department of Automatic Control Engineering Begin Internships at Italy’s National Research Council (CNR), Exploring Hydrogen Life‑Cycle Assessment and Digital Maritime Transport

In late February 2024, Chia‑Yu Lin from the Department of Environmental Engineering and Science, together with Yun‑Ching Pu, Wen‑Cheng Tsao, and Yan‑Hua Lu from the Department of Automatic Control Engineering, began their internships at the National Research Council (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, CNR) in Rome, Italy. Their opportunities were made possible through the Ministry of Education’s Dream‑Building Study Abroad Program and Feng Chia University’s University Social Responsibility (USR) initiatives. Their internship will continue through the end of May.

Feng Chia University Ranked Third Among Private Universities in the 2024 CommonWealth Magazine USR University Responsibility Survey

In the 2024 CommonWealth Magazine “USR University Citizenship” Survey, university governance and teaching commitment were combined and weighted equally alongside environmental sustainability and social responsibility, each accounting for one‑third of the total score. A new mechanism for inter‑university peer evaluation was also introduced to assess how universities fulfill their role as key contributors to society. In recognition of its comprehensive efforts across multiple USR initiatives, Feng Chia University ranked third among private universities.

Feng Chia University’s Ching‑Chuan Chen and Wan‑Ting Hsieh Participate in the MACHI STEM Women Scientist Program at Rice University in the United States.

During her tenure as Director of the Science Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston in 2021, Hui‑Kuang Yu, Dean of the Office of Student Affairs at Feng Chia University, collaborated with Prof. Junichiro Kono of Rice University to expand the original U.S.–Japan TOMODACHI STEM Program to include Taiwan. Through this partnership, five outstanding female university students from Taiwan are selected each year to join the MACHI STEM Program, forming the combined TOMODACHI‑MACHI STEM Program, aimed at cultivating future female leaders in science and engineering.
